Well kept and very nice ambiance

This place is amazing! We were there for 3 days and it definitely wasn’t long enough. The clothing optional black sand beach is incredible. Matt went above and beyond by finding two people to do a couples massage for us! The hot tub was the perfect way to relax every evening but the outdoor shower was my favorite place. Do something good for yourself and go stay here a couple days! 💜

This guesthouse is in an isolated, somewhat rugged part of the island. It is truly a getaway. If you haven't been to the state of HI before, this is not the island of long, beautiful sandy beaches. The tropical climate, gorgeous ocean crashing views, and lava rock give this this part of the big island it's own beauty. Houston was a good host and he had a lot of info to share. The landscaping was gorgeous and well maintained.

These are not necessarily negative comments but are things one should be aware of. This IS a clothing optional LGBT guesthouse. My partner and I seek out resorts catering to gay men sometimes, where we can feel comfortable being an open couple. We can't do that at a Sandals Resort. For the majority of our stay, the other guests were also gay men. But unlike the gay male resorts where I've been in places like Palm Springs or Key West, this guesthouse also welcomes women and straight couples. Not catering exclusively to a gay male clientele could cause legitimate discomfort for some, so know that before booking. Not sure why a straight couple would choose to stay at an LGBT guesthouse, but they are welcomed here. A pleasant enough, shy, maybe surprised straight couple checked in on our last night. The house itself was generally clean and the other guests we met were friendly. There is no a/c but even though we were there in mid-July, it really wasn't needed. The hot tub was large and a nice place to chat w folks. A pool would have fantastic! We'd have hardly left the grounds. We both really enjoyed our stay.

Our host Houston was super friendly, kind and knowledgeable about the local area. A very special place to stay - close to the beach, very remote, sleep with the sound of nature and a lovely hot tub to boot.
