Haven House

Really comfortable bed. Hotel location a definite plus. Food at the Golden Lion really tasty. Worth a visit.

Haven House is well located for exploring the Dales, as well as providing many conveniences, with restaurants, pubs, and other amenities nearby. Tracey and Iain were excellent hosts, making us welcome and remaining available for advice and information. We loved the views from our room and also from the breakfast area. Tracey’s full English breakfasts are excellent, with her delicious homemade jellies and jams as a bonus.

The shower was difficult to manage.

Having elected to pay a little extra for a better room we found the view we had was a roundabout in the market square, Other rooms at the rear of the property had good views accross open countryside, apparently the room we paid extra for had a shower like all rooms but also a silly bath, what a waste of money, we dont go for a break to have a bath but would much prefer a magnificant view. Because of Layburns excellent location the prices charged for this very average establishment was far too expensive but of course they will always be well booked due to geography not quality, hence no incentive for continual improvement. The entrance from the car park could not be accessed from the car park due to the key not available for residents, how about one key to fit both front and back access? So there was unfortunately more to complain about than to compliment on.

Comfortable and clean with super beds and bed linen. Despite being in the centre of the town the room was quiet due to very efficient double glazing

The shower was difficult to regulate
