Trevelyan Hotel

The room was clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast. Adequate for somewhere to rest head for the night.

Very basic. No kettle in the room. No wifi signal in room but I managed to pick up the hotel next door and use that one. Tv signal very poor.

The room is cosy and the bed is springy and comfy. Range of hard, medium and soft pillows which meant I could choose the right one for me. The balcony is a nice addition. Breakfast is good - orange juice, cereal, toast and a cooked breakfast of sausage, beans, fried egg, tomato and bacon, with a pot of coffee or tea.

The most concerning negative about my stay is that a man let himself into my room with a key without knocking while I was in there. He said he was there to water the flowers on the balcony. I was in shock and had a real go at him, and told him under no circumstances can he let himself in without knocking first, as I could have been changing. It was totally inappropriate. He tried to tell me that he's always careful, and I had to point out that he didn't even check if the room was occupied before bursting in, so how is that careful...? The manager (who was already in the hallway) told him off too, and she was apologetic at breakfast the next day. But I don't think this is enough when I've paid for privacy. As a woman it made me feel very on edge for the rest of my stay. I booked this trip to relax away from a busy life at home, and ended up worried and stressed that he/someone else was going to just enter my room at any time. I had a shower later that day and spent the whole time turning it off if I heard a noise, in case someone was coming in again. Horrible feeling.

Nothing to like about this hotel

Owner told us that lift had broken last week. Found out it has not worked for over a year. Rooms were very small. Bed springs sticking through mattress. No Wi-Fi in room. Only stayed one night, moved to another hotel for other two nights stay in IOM.

Some noise at 4am from I think phone alarms which were not getting switched off quickly

bed is very comfortable.

1. no lift for upper floors. 2. Breakfast time is too restricted. 3. wifi connection is poor.
