Great location, owners met us and couldn’t have done enough to ensure we had everything we needed. Breakfast plentiful and good quality

The friendly hosts went above and beyond to welcome us, make a big fuss about this being the last stop on our honeymoon, and help organise a taxi and our evening meal. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable, in a good location, and we enjoyed sitting in the private garden in the evening. Bikes were kept secure while we explored Hornsea and overnight. Good continental breakfast with fresh coffee served in the room.

The oddly arranged wet room meant that you had to walk through the shower area to get to the WC and the whole thing gets wet. All works though and not enough to put me off going considering all the plus points, just a pernickety thing.

The location was right in town, but away from any traffic noise. There was a lovely sitting area outside. Breakfast was semi-continental and really good. The owner couldn't have been nicer and more helpful.

The only slight downside was the toilet being located at the far end of the wetroom. The owner explained that this was due to plumbing restrictions when they developed the room and was happy for us to used the bathmat to reach the toilet if the floor was wet. On the plus side, it meant that the shower area was spacious and the shower worked really well (not often the case in our experience). I would much rather have this arrangement than a tiny shower cubicle with an eratic shower.

There was nothing I didn't like

Darcy’s was a very comfortable place to stay right in the heart of Hornsea within easy walking distance of both the seafront and the Mere. Breakfast was very good and delivered to your room at your chosen time Paula and Steve were exceptional hosts - nothing was too much trouble.

Would have preferred a regular bathroom rather than a wet room but that is simply personal preference.
