Ballas Farm Country Guest House

Warm and welcoming.

Just a very easy stay. Host offered to drop me off at a local pub, which was above and beyond. Breakfast on both days was was great. Room was fine with nice hot shower. Will definitely use again when visiting. Couldn't fault it.

Access was slightly difficult as it is a single track from the main road, but only once met other cars and was not a major issue.

Absolutely loved the breakfast and Liz and family were great, very friendly. The guesthouse was very clean and well looked after and the view of the garden was very nice. Loved watching the squirrels playing in the tree. A short drive from Kenfig nature reserve and The prince of wales pub where you can get a very nice lunch or evening meal.

For me the mattress was too hard which is my personal preference and I’m sure many people are totally happy with the firmness.

The staff are very friendly and kind. Breakfast was always punctual, well presented and very tasty.

The bathroom was immaculate. One of the best shower pressures I have ever experienced. It was delightful... with a towel warmer too!

Wonderful welcome. Peaceful location and the room was spotless, spacious and extremely comfortable. Great hosts whom were so warm and welcoming. Can’t wait to book again.

There wasn’t anything that we could say we’ve liked

Room was cold heating gone off at 10.30pm and in Wales in January that is not a good thing! Mattress was so old had two indentations on each side I have never slept on such a bad and old mattress We have run out of hot water Have not slept at all Bed linen was cheap and old with thin duvet thank god we had our own blanket which we have used Room was small there was no place to swing a cat Alternative option for breakfast were very limited When we have spoken to the owner he said that guests are expected to shower earlier before water heating goes off he was not really taking in our feedback When you stay somewhere you expect to be comfortable warm and to have a good night sleep none of that we have experienced sadly We wanted to support small business

Best stay we have had anywhere! Everyone so lovely and welcoming. Room amazing and nothing too much trouble. Breakfast wonderful - definitely going back again. Bed was so comfortable we slept very well.
