Grange House Bed & Breakfast

I was looking for a place to spend a night on my way south from Scotland to the channel crossing, and came across The Grange House B&B not far from Nottingham. I didn't know it at the time I booked it, but I would be left so impressed with my first stay, I booked it again for my return journey and I think that says it all! My room was beautifully decorated, immaculate, and was stocked with cold bottled water, tea, coffee and biscuits on my arrival. The bed was super comfortable and felt like home, the minute I climbed into it. The guest house is set at the end of a very quiet, dead-end road, overlooking pastural land. So it's a lovely quiet area with no thoroughfare. You can easily walk to Lowdham village centre from Grange House in about 25-30 minutes (where there are a few small shops, a Co-op and a great pub for a meal or a drink!). There's also a pretty, wooded nature reserve you can take a walk through, just 5 minutes from the guest house. My breakfast was superb, starting out with fresh fruit (and juice), yogurt and a wide choice of cereals and toast, followed by a beautifully cooked and piping hot full-English that will see you right through the day (I'd say one of the best I've had)! The quality of the room and the breakfast was only exceeded by the graciousness and generosity of my wonderful hosts - Kevin and Anne-Marie. A more lovely and welcoming couple you would be hard pressed to find, and my time with them was the unexpected highlight of my trip! They did absolutely everything they could to make my stay a wonderful experience from start to finish. My return visit (on my way home) was every bit as fantastic as my first stay and I will absolutely stay here again at the next opportunity. In summary, this is just one of those rare gems of a B&B that will make you really pleased you came across it!

We had an excellent night's sleep at Grange House and really enjoyed our breakfast. Our host was very friendly and helpful and helped us to find Grange House. All in all, it was a great stopover on the way home from Scot;and.

Our host is aware that not everyone likes an overhead shower. Also, make sure you have detailed instructions to locate the property!

Quiet location, warm and friendly welcome, immaculately clean, high quality facilities and varied, plentiful and delicious breakfast. And super dog friendly. Arrived as guests but felt like friends when we left.

Shower head (electric) had been fixed high up and could not be lowered as too tightly fastened. Personal preference is for black out curtains. Room a bit chilly for me. Again a personal preference.
