White Caps Kaikoura Farmstay

Beautiful barn style guest suite! From the bed you have views of the mountains, the sea, the cows and the sunrise 😊 Indigo and Bonnie were both very friendly and showed us around, room was nicely kitted out! Property is very quiet and serene and not too far from city centre.

This place was a dream! The host was lovely and very good at explaining the accommodation. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The view was amazing and the room was really warm and cosy as we arrived in cold weather! Would highly recommend White Caps!

The stay was truly wonderful. The house is beautifully decorated with an ocean motif, offering a view of the starry sky and sunrise. Complete privacy is guaranteed. The host is thoughtful, welcoming and amiable. I would certainly return in the future.

A microwave was not provided, or perhaps I couldn't locate it, and it would enhance the experience if a blind or curtain could be installed for the bathroom window.

Quiet, back-country, clean air, spacious room, clean and bright.

Beds are very soft. Some cheese or sausages for breakfast lacking.

The house is in a quiet landscape with surrounding grassland with cows, sheep, rabbits. Aspects that really stand out include the views- the mountains behind the house, the sun rising over the ocean in front of the house, and the house itself, which is large, with an upstairs loft bedroom and very comfortable living room downstairs. Indigo has furnished and decorated it beautifully. We really enjoyed her friendly hospitality. Kaikoura is nearby with fine walks and restaurants.

We loved the setting, how quiet and comfortable it was. Our host was top tier!

Breakfast was adequate - but while there was a Nespresso coffee machine available, there was no way to heat the milk (which for us loving flat-white people was disappointing). We really thought that at the very least there should be a small microwave available.

A way to heat milk, a small microwave to heat milk and any food to warm. The location is beautiful, but it is 10-12 minutes outside of Kaikoura, so some way to heat a take out is necessary. Also, I do dislike having to wash crockery and cutlery in the handbasin in the toilet. Not hygienic. I know, if staying one night only, one can leave dirty dishes but still.
