Beautiful place with 2 lovely swimming pools. The first room had a broken bulb, no kettle etcz We changed our room to a very nice one with a verandah.

We were greeted and almost thrown out by one of the staff but then our driver called the manager and it was all sorted (including the room change)…very thankful for that.

All is beautiful here, the lovely design, the rooms decor. An extremely peaceful Dar near the Tozeur Medina with delicious breakfasts. We would also like to thank the gentleman who speaks Italian and serves the meals to guests for his incredible kindness.

A few minor improvement suggestions: Mattresses are a bit hard and should be replaced for a higher comfort. There is no safe in the rooms, despite being advertised on Booking . com But the reason we cannot rate our stay 10/10 is we had an unfortunate incident at check out as due to some connectivity issues with their card machine they were unable to take payment from our credit cards, we tried like 4 times with 2 different cards and the error persisted after which the gentleman at the front desk (not the manager, who was not even there) suggested that we went to a cash machine in the Medina to pay cash instead, which obviously we refused to do as we didnt want to walk around with all that money with us - not to mention the bank comissions it would have had for us… Plus we had to run to the airport not to miss our flight, it would have made us loss a lot of time… At this point we were almost accused of wanting to leave the place without paying our bill and were told that the problem was with our cards when it was absolutely false!! in the end we met the hotel manager at the Tozeur airport who followed us there and they somehow managed to solve the connectivity issue with their card machine…. and we paid with one of our cards, of course. A bittersweet ending to what it could have been a wonderful stay, if the manager would have been at the property at the time of our check out (at least to say goodbye to guests, as we told him the day before we would be leaving the place at 8 am next day) perhaps it would not have happened… They clearly need a plan B to offer guests other payment options if such connectivity issues happen, such as a provinding a bank account number for an instant bank transfer at check out or block the full invoice amount into the clients card previously used to guarantee the reservation. But never you can pass your issue to a guest telling them they need to go and get cash somewhere if your card machine doesn't work properly.

Dar Tozeur has a lot of charm, and is incredibly beautiful. The whole hotel is really nicely decorated, with lovely traditional touches. The staff were really friendly, and made us feel welcome. The lunches and dinners we had there were really tasty. We were only there for two days but I wish we’d have stayed for longer!

The only small suggested improvement was for the breakfast, - there was a lot of food and variety, but we would have appreciated a bit better quality.

We had a wonderful stay in Dar Tozeur. We arrived very late one evening but the staff went above and beyond to prepare us a meal at such a late hour. The setting is gorgeous - so many beautiful little spots within the hotel itself.
