Really friendly staff, clean and comfortable room

room was warm and snug ,wind was howling outside so relaxing,beautiful hot bath evening meal was fabulous and plentiful as was breakfast ,host couldnt do enough to ensure a perfect stay,will use again,highly recommend

Atmospheric, low ceilings, an open fire in the bar, friendly dogs, over 300 years old. The roast pork was lovely and came with Yorkshire puddings, lots of carefully cooked veg and a huge gravy boat of gravy. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming.

Very good breakfast. Nice atmosphere. Dog friendly.

Our dinner reservation didn't get put in the book. Hot bath tap was stuck. Central heating too hot for the time of year.

"This is the sort of property we like to stay in on our trips to the Whitby area"

Pete and the staff made us feel welcome. The room was clean and tidy, and very comfortable. We would certainly stay again in spite of Pete’s jokes.
