Excellent choices good food.

Found everything to our satisfaction

We had a good sleep once we got to sleep and a good breakfast one of the 2 days

Strong Smell of fireplace soot in the bedroom Different floor levels within the room Owners dogs loose in the bars

A lovely traditional pub with a lovely atmosphere. The food was great and the host. Pete was brilliant. Super helpful, informative and he had some great one liners!

The bathroom needed handtowels. Such a small thing to 'moan' about.

Bathroom was not clean could do with a very good clean every day

We had a great dinner and the staff we very helpful

Pete was great. He provided a very early breakfast (7am) to accommodate our desire to get back to the C2C by 7:30am. Pete was very informative about the history of the area and the origins of the pub's name. The interior of the inn was in keeping with the theme of witches, and it had a great vibe and atmosphere. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious.

True to the website info, it is a steep climb to the property but a very pleasant downhill walk upon leaving. The steep climb is only an issue if you are walking it.

Room no 3. with loud music from restaurant below. No really warm water at the shower. Plenty steps between bedroom and bathroom

Friendly and helpful staff. Great food and a good pub atmosphere. Real fire was welcome. A proper traditional pub and a lovely place to stay.

All staff were helpful and friendly. Pete was very knowledgeable about the local area, he gave us some great suggestions re walks etc. The food was lovely and bed comfortable. We loved the quirky set up of the bedroom and bathroom. 🙂

Shower gel and shampoo would be a welcome addition to the bathroom. It did state that the pub is dog friendly. If you have an allergy to dogs or aren't keen on them, this is not the place to stay. (It was no problem to us!) 🐾🙂
