It was worth the price, and the host's behavior was good

It didn’t look like the photos, the outside of the room wasn’t clean and was messy, the water pressure was low, and we couldn’t take a shower. .

The location was great

I was really wanting to like this place but my stay here wasn’t good. I arrived at check in and the owner didn’t even know about my booking and therefore didn’t have my room ready and told me to go to the beach for a few hours and come back. When I did come back the room was fine but the bed sheets smelt like mould, the window couldn’t be shut so bugs could come in, there are so many ants in the room as well. The fan doesn’t really keep you cool at night. The mosquito net was also patched up with band aids… Another issue is that I asked if there was laundry near by that does it quick because I needed it by the end of the day and he said he could do it for me within a few hours so I paid him 500lkr and gave it to him early the next morning. When I come back in the evening I ask him if it’s finished and he said it’s drying and I should come back after dinner. So I come back at 9 and he says all my clothes are still wet but it’s ready. I got quite annoyed at this point because it had been 12 hours and he hadn’t managed to clean and dry my clothes properly. He told me to just put the fan on in my room and the clothes will dry by morning which is ridiculous and they didn’t so I had to check out in the morning with a bag of wet clothes. The man is nice but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There are plenty of other much better places in Mirissa to stay in for the same price and better quality service.

The location is great very close to the ocean and Parrot Rock, the room was nice, and the owner was also nice and helpful The bathroom wasn't inside the room though, but on the same floor and we had a key for it so it was only our room using it

no AC inside the room and it was hot, ceiling fan wasn't enough but the owner was nice and brought us also a standing fan

The hosts didn't know we were coming. We reached the location and kept knocking on the door and nobody opened. When we tried the number on booking.com, nobody picked up. Then we found a piece of paper stuck to the side of the house with another number and called that. Someone picked up and said her father with reach. We had to wait while getting attacked by so many mosquitoes because the house was right next to a sewage dump full of garbage and plastic waste with a monitor lizard floating in it. When the guy reached, he said it was our fault for making the booking 1 month back and that's why he forgot. Then he tried to give one room with AC and another without AC in the sweltering heat of April and asked us to wait for another hour while he got the rooms ready. We left from there and booked rooms in another hotel nearby. Really bad experience. And the location is very unheigenic with mosquitoes because of the sewage dump.

The location was close to the main road but also to the pond of floating trash, the rooms were clean, but we didnt have the AC, so it was very hot even during the night, our bathroom was private but outside the room.. eventhough good value for money, the owner was very helpful..

The room not connected to the bathroom, not having the AC, they have the dog on the leash, but sometimes he gets away and comes to the room..

Really friendly host. Really good price. Nice location, just a short walk to the beach.

Struggled with the pressure in the shower and usually the water that came out was too hot or too cold in the private room.

Situated just a few minutes to the beach but away from the main road noise in the forest / jungle, the room with balcony and fan + AC is comfortable and has a nice view of the garden and river where you can watch monkeys, squirrels, birds and dragon lizards.
