Behind the gates of Casa Magnolia within the heart of Cumbaya, Carola welcomes you into her tranquil nature paradise. For me, it's the attention to small details that make the difference: the cross-stitched embellishment over the tables add color and creativity, the elegant globe lighting with the word "love" as the lighting filament, the lazy susan make sharing food with new friends so easy, the homemade jams and filling European-style breakfast, the magnifying mirror in the bathroom, the light that comes on when you open the armoire early in the morning so as not to waken others still sleeping, coming in to a blazing fire on a rainy evening, the book borrowing shelf, and the loving pets to cozy up to in the late afternoon while sipping a glass of wine. All of this and more now have me recommending Casa Magnolia to my friends. Carola is attentive, speaks several languages, and goes out of her way to make all flow seamlessly. I will definitely return!

It is a German country type small hotel in Quito, Ecuador. They offer a decent breakfast with the room. Lunch and dinner have to be ordered in advance and it is prepared at a reasonable price. The hotel has a small eating room and the tables are assigned to the guest rooms. The location of the hotel is its biggest attraction. The backyard has a tropical garden with huge trees and lovely flowers all around. That aspect of the hotel is unmatched. The owner makes you feel at home and the location of the hotel is very safe. It is located in a town called Cumbaya in the outskirts of Quito. The actitude of the hotel is about 1000 feet lower than Quito itself. There is a shopping center calle Scala about two blocks from the hotel. If you are looking for the upmost luxury location and confortable place, this is not it. Also, they do not provide TV on your room so bring your PC.

The shower stall in the bathroom could be improved. Also the temperature of the town is fairly constand year around so they do not use ACs or heating units. However each room has a fireplace and wood is provided if you choose to set up a fire. The owner is German, and also speaks some English. Spanish is spoken by the staff.

Lovely oasis in the middle of Cumbaya, safe, removed from the busy streets. Pleasant room, comfortable beds, clean, nice breakfast, good wifi, attentive staff, close to shops and restaurants nearby.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Magnolia. The place was beautiful, comfortable, and perfect for our trip with our 4-year-old. Carola was an amazing host—so thoughtful, kind, and very accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed for a smooth and enjoyable stay. We truly felt welcomed. We were very pleased overall and absolutely loved the breakfast. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend Casa Magnolia.

Absolutely wonderful, magical place! I felt at home immediately, and Carola was the best hostess. She arranged for a taxi to and from the airport, and she even arranged a massage for me to relax in the yoga studio located on the property. The room was clean and cozy with a balcony. The property is relaxing and magical with all the flowers, plants and friendly animals. The food was also amazing. Not only the breakfast, but I opted for dinner during my stay. Overall, it was a superb, wonderful experience, and I would absolutely stay again!
