Bed and Breakfast Ineke en John

The hosts are very nice, helpful, flexible and charming. Located on the top floor in the private home of Jon and Ineke, the room is spacious, very well equipped with what's needed to make tea, dishes for meal, a table, a tv, an excellent Wi-Fi. Just outside the room on the same floor, there is a coffee machine, a microwave and a fridge with soft drinks if needed. The room is very quiet in a quiet neighbourhood. The bathroom is shared on the floor below. Guests could enjoy the garden when it's nice weather. The room faces a very nice view on trees across the street.

Located outside of Amsterdam, it's a 20 minute train ride to get to Hoofddorp station then a 29 minute walk to get to the place. It represents an hour commuting time each way. Needless to say that there is nothing worthwhile to see for a tourist in that area except perhaps discover the strange notions of urbanism that lead the Dutch to build that place in the first place. A kind of Dutch version of suburbia. And not the fault of Jon and Enike of course, the train to Hoofddorp or Amsterdam Centraal was cancelled a couple of times during my 4 days there. It proved a bit of a challenge to say the least to get down to Amsterdam and back to Hoofdorp by other means during those failures. A taxi ride from Amsterdam Centraal would probably cost over a 100 euros. It cost 48 euros from Lelylaan metro station on Sunday night during the train failure. And, even, the next morning on my departure, trains were not running to get back to Amsterdam Centraal. Again, another case of stress to get back in town.

The breakfast was just perfect, more than enought to choose from :) House has a great atmosphere, also everything was clean. Ineke and John are such a nice people. I kinda felt like I was part of the family :D The place is very quiet, nice neighbourhood I was a bit skeptical as I knew there was going to be shared bathroom and toilet, but it was alright

Ineka and John are warm and friendly. The house is lovely and cozy, and the breakfast is amazing.

Location 20 minutes walk from station and only 10 from town centre . lots of canals and park walks around. Nice place to stay. Hosts could not do enough for you. Breakfasts were excellent and not the same every day. they obviously care about their guests !!! .

Shame bathroom was down stairs.

Loved the location - within walking to restaurants and local transit. Parking was on the street and free, but uncovered. I arrived in late March and the room was extremely comfortable. The bed was the best I've slept on in Europe to date (comparing more than 20+ hotel stays)!

I did not like the extremely narrow stairs and stairwell in the house. Also the shared bathroom was on the second floor while the bedrooms were on the third floor. So you might consider locking your room everytime to go downstairs to use the bathroom.
