The outdoor space is wonderful. The hot tub, fire pit, and nearby woods provide such a wonderful and relaxing time in a nice evening. The hot tub was helpful for me to therapize some injured muscles from my work as a musician. Teri was so attentive to help me solve my strained neck problem, and was prepared with lidocaine patches, NSAIDs, a hot tub, and moral support. She is very friendly and really cares that you have a good experience.

Just expect the charms of an old house. Some may appreciate it and some might not. I appreciated the old house!

The hot tub. It was lovely being able to use it at any time.

There was nowhere to put anything in our room. The cupboards were full of the owner’s clothes (see photo) and every surface was covered in clutter. We had to keep our belongings in a suitcase on the floor. One of the cats climbed in and started kneading my clothes. The doors do not latch (see photo), which meant overhearing everything happening in the room next door. The door to the downstairs room was left wide open so that I twice saw someone sleeping and even using the toilet as I went out to the garden. The only way to secure the doors upstairs is by using a hook and staple inside or a padlock on the outside. This meant that when one of us left the room the cats could come in. They could only be removed by picking them up. When they went under the bed they were unreachable. I lay down for a nap and one of them immediately joined me, pushing his face into mine. When I turned over, he lay on my head. He also laid right across one of the steps of the staircase and refused to move, so that we had to step over him. Ornaments on the stairs made it difficult to carry luggage (see photo). The cats’ toys are also trip hazards. The listing implied that it was self-catering: ‘There is also a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen’. After removing the cat which was lying on the kitchen worksurface, we cooked something using the microwave, only to find that there was nowhere to eat. See the dining area in the photo. There was no chair in the bedroom and the owner’s personal belongings were on the coffee table and floor by the settee. This meant having to sit on the bed when eating.

A proprietária é simpatica e nos recebeu bem, mas durante o processo de reserva não estava claro que era um quarto dentro da casa da pessoa.

The only good thing about this place was it's location: close to Hotchkiss School.

The house and yard were a cluttered mess. (They were not renovating the kitchen.) The "hostess" was unhelpful when asked for restaurant recommendations. The room was a joke--bunk beds were hard and lumpy. The decor was cluttered and unattractive. There was no shower and the one hand towel we were given had a hole in it. The hostess left almost immediately and we were alone all night with all the doors completely open. There were at least three cats wandering through the house. Last, there was NO breakfast...isn't that a main ingredient of a "Bed and Breakfast"?????
