Via col Vento

Host Andrea was very welcoming and spoke great English. He was happy to supply us with a kettle and tea, and checked if we needed anything. A great breakfast was included. Andrea made some delicious cakes to supplement the breakfast! The view from the terrace was stunning.

Just be prepared to carry your bags up a couple of staircases.

Luca, the host and his father are wonderful hosts. They made our stay very comfortable and made an effort to accommodate our needs and requests. The view from the place is beautiful and it’s a good location for star routes by car

We really enjoyed the kind and welcoming spirit of Lucca, his dad Frank, and the handsome white sheepherding dog Kirk Douglas. The room was simple but had a firm mattress, good linens and towels and a hot shower. The breakfast was outstanding and a reminder of how the world of travel was before airbnb. Chieti is a very cool hill town and is a steep walk or a short drive from Via col Vento. As home builders ourselves, we were in awe of Frank's reclamation of the historic structure. The "before" pictures show what a project this was. Oh, and I forgot to mention the killer views. Super value. Stay here!

Luca was an amazing host, went above and beyond. Beautiful location and very comfortable and clean rooms.

GPS took us to the wrong location.

We had a very good night's sleep. Very friendly and helpful owner. Good position, a little out of town but we could walk into town for dinner. (Up a steep hill!) Some little touches made us feel very comfortable. A large chilled bottle of mineral water on arrival was much appreciated after a long drive in hot weather. We could park the car off the street right outside and felt it was safe. Had a nice cappuccino and brioche for breakfast. There was plenty of cake for anyone still hungry! Plus fruit and yogurt if you wanted. (I loved their jukebox and had a go with it at breakfast time!)

Nothing really. It is a quirky place but we had a good night stop there.

The host Luca and his family are very friendly. Breakfast included a good variety of items from sweets bread to scrambled eggs from the family chickens. The lovely view from the upper veranda stretches from the sea to snow covered mountains. Car parking is secure.
