Cwmbach Lodge luxury B&B

We recently stayed at this charming lodge and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by our friendly hosts who made us feel genuinely welcome and at home. The lodge itself is beautifully situated, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and rolling countryside — the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. Each morning, we woke up to these incredible vistas, which set the tone for a relaxing day ahead. Breakfast was a real highlight — substantial, delicious, and clearly prepared with care. There was plenty of variety to suit all tastes, and we left each day feeling thoroughly satisfied and ready to explore the local area. All in all, we couldn’t recommend this lodge highly enough. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with stunning scenery and wonderful hosts, this is the place to be. We can’t wait to come back!

Charming hosts, delicious breakfast in our room with a view of the beautiful landscaped garden. A hidden gem in the countryside just a few minutes from Hay-on-Wye.

Great breakfast and facilities. The host was very friendly and made us feel welcome and made every effort to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. The room was of good size. The hosts also made our golden retriever feel at home. The garden was wonderful and the surrounding areas were very pleasant. Great walks available in the area with lovely views!

The location can be a bit remote for some with not many convenience stores if required, for some. Some pubs in the area do not serve food every day of the week.

Clare and John’s hospitality was exceptional, they’re extremely kind and friendly people. The room was fabulous with glorious views across the Welsh countryside. Breakfast was also prompt and more importantly delicious too. Couldn’t recommend it enough!
