"Amazing, cozy, homelike place."

Everything was great. Location just 10 minutes from Hobbiton, surroundings, nice and quiet. And the place itself? Gorgeous! Really spacious, equipped with anything you can think of, Gerda provided us with variety of food options like eggs, homemade bread and jam, yogurts and drinks in the fridge. But most importantly the vibe of the place was great. We felt like home and wished to stay there for longer. Highly recommended. And as for the navigation someone complained about- no issue at all. GPS and also Gerda’s description you receive in advance is accurate!

"Great Place to stay near Hobbit Movie Set Tour"

Cosy Country Stay was well laid out and had everything we needed for our stay. We were close to the area we wanted to visit and were very pleased with how breakfast was self contained (everything was provided in the room to make it yourself). The space was comfortable and large - easy to spread out. Also, the laundry there in the room was easy to use.

It is not marked from road so you have to make sure you are reading your communications from your hosts. But this is really just a small thing given all the other great things about the place.

"Perfectly situated for an overnight stay when visiting Hobbiton"

It was a gorgeous country retreat near Hobbiton, which was great for an overnight stay. It had everything you needed for a comfortable visit. The goats were just outside the front of the cottage and were very sweet, hiding in their hutch out of the weather. The cottage is near Matamata, so it was an easy drive to have dinner in town.

Nothing, although it would be nice to have a king bed.

"The perfect getaway, quaint and cosy as described"

We loved the scenery and serenity while having a self contained place to stay. The hosts are both lovely people and we’re more than happy to help with any requests we may have had. We enjoyed having a beer at the bar outside and all the amenities the place has to offer.

The only thing is that we wish we stayed another night! Couldn’t fault anything else 5/5 stars 😀
