"Wonderful and welcoming"

Of all the properties we stayed in during our 2 week tour of NZ, this was the best. Very close to Hobbiton for those wishing to visit and full of LotR memorabilia. Unfortunately, as we were doing both the day and evening tours of Hobbiton we didn't have that long to stay in this lovely property... Very welcoming owner and they had left us with eggs, jams, a loaf of bread, muffins, milk, yoghurts and orange juice to name but a few items. Just wish we could have taken advantage of it all but we had to leave early the next morning too so our stay was far too short... Thoroughly recommended!

One toilet between 4 of us but we knew that when booked so not a huge problem

"Great place."

Perfect for Festival one. Everything I needed and it was good to have food provided for breakfast. Easy to find coming back in the dark. This place could easily sleep 6, 8 more crowded.

Very minor point… Technically breakfast ingredients were provided to cook yourself, not a prepared breakfast.

Location was perfect, we had an event at Lake Karapiro and it was close to drive to everyday. Hosts were lovely and easy to communicate with and very responsive. Apartment had everything we needed and the food provided for breakfasts were perfect.

That we didn't stay an extra day!

"Lovely lodge in super location for Hobbiton."

Very cosy lodge with lots of space. Super location for Hobbiton. Just wished we could have stayed a bit longer. Owners very accommodating & welcoming.

There were 6 of us, maybe another saucepan would have been good.

perfect location for visitng Hobbiton. Simple but very effective breakfast options and a beautiful part of the world. Lots of things to do within the house especially for the kids. Lovely host and a few animals to play with too. Comfortable beds.

"Perfect for families, close to Hobbiton"

We stayed at Hills Vista Lodge the evening before our Hobbiton tour which is just a few minutes away. It was so nice not to have to get up early and rush out. The owner, Briony, met us when we arrived to show us around the house and answer any questions. We appreciated the provided breakfast items (fresh eggs, bread, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee) and the washer and dryer so we could do a load of laundry during our 2 week vacation. Our two teenage boys were thrilled to each have their own rooms! :) We also enjoyed hanging out on the comfy couch and watching Lord of the Rings dvds, perfect rainy night family activity.
