If you like nature and you want to be immerse in the real Sri Lanka: Welcome to paradise! I loved the place so much that I decided to extend one more night. The bedroom is big, the terrace is so chill, but the best of the best are the breakfast and dinner, cooked with local ingredients ! Thanks to Sajit and his family for taking care of me, I felt like home. I was lucky enough to see a squirrel when I was reading in the terrace. Can’t stop thinking about how relax I was feeling. Hope to come back soon. Around the place: -30sec walk to the local supermarket -5mins walk to the number 1 Ayurveda and massage center in the area (Wasala center) -5mins walk to the wood carving & handicrafts workshop -around 10mins walk to Sigiriya -Less than 10 minutes drive to Pidurangala (amazing for Sunrise)

We had a wonderful stay in Sigiriya! The homestay was cozy and the curries were absolutely delicious. It was the perfect base for hiking both Pidurangala Mountain and Lion Rock, with both just a short distance away. ❤️ We enjoyed some truly yummy curries in the cute Garden! 🪴 The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, and shared so many interesting stories about Sri Lankan culture. We learned a lot and felt truly connected to the place. He also gave us great recommendations for places to visit nearby, which made our stay even more special. Staying @ Grand Freedom is coming back to the essence of traveling: getting to know the locals and tasting the local ingredients. This mix was for us a blessed experience! Our stay was wonderful. They helped us with an early check-in, and upon arrival, they kindly prepared a very complete breakfast for us, even though it was not included that day. They arranged a special dinner for us in a very charming setting. The entire family treated us amazingly and helped us with everything we needed.

Very lovely and friendly host who took his time to chat with us. The breakfast was also very good.

Be aware that the room with the two separate beds (not the double room) has very uncomfortable mattresses. We could feel the springs and could barely sleep. Maybe that’s not a problem when you’re in your 20ies, but for me and my friend it was.

Very peaceful accommodation. If you're lucky, you can see wild elephants at night. Breakfast and dinner are great.

Our stay at this guesthouse was absolutely wonderful! The host was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. The location is perfect, with easy access to local attractions. The breakfast was delicious and authentic, showcasing the best of the local cuisine. On top of that, we requested dinner, and it was simply amazing—highly recommended! The host also helped us discover some hidden gems in the area and even drove us to Sigiriya Rock and back, which was such a thoughtful gesture. It truly cannot get any better than this. If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming stay with incredible hospitality and fantastic food, this is the place!
