Experience life in a traditional Sri Lankan home. The warm smiles of the hosts and their kindness in helping you with anything you need. The “grandfather” who takes you around in a tuk-tuk (at a great price). The excellent location of the accommodation.

The rooms are not soundproofed, so it might be an issue for light sleepers. However, it’s perfect for experiencing the local atmosphere.

We were welcomed by the host in such a warm and welcoming way, together with a delicious welcome drink. The room was equipped with a fan and a mosquito net - or two favourite appliances! As of that wasn’t enough, the host’s wife made us a fish curry that set a new standard of deliciousness! Everything was perfect! We loved our stay and would definitely return!

The family was lovely and the house is well located if you want to visit the temples. It's a good 20-25min walk to the entrance of the cave temple so i'd still recommend a tuktuk if it's hot. The room was sparkling clean but very hot. The fan worked well, and it's fair to say that i didn't book a room with AC. Breakfast quantities were generous (noodles) but not much variety and no fruit. The host was super kind and gave me a lift to town on my checkout day as he was going to work.

Very friendly owners. If SriLankan level of spiciness is too high for you, here cooking is much milder.

The value for money is exceptional, with clean and serene rooms. The owner provided outstanding customer service, ensuring every need was met promptly and with a smile. The breakfast was delightful and added to the overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a budget-friendly option in Dambulla.

One thing to note is that the environment is too warm, so I recommend choosing rooms with air conditioning to ensure a comfortable stay.

This was undoubtedly the best experience I have had with any accommodation not only in Sri Lanka but after many years visiting around 30 countries this stay is one that really shines! The facilities were absolutely fantastic, the bed was very comfortable and the room was extremely clean and well looked after. All the bedding and pillow cases looked brand new, the bathroom was lovely, hot water was available and there was a kettle with complimentary green and black tea which was a lovely touch! Most importantly and what really made the stay so fantastic was the hospitality from Range, the owner. He really is second to none, he made me feel incredibly welcome and well looked after from the moment I arrived, he was absolutely brilliant and helped me out with bookings for Sigirya, helped me to get a bus to Kandy and even woke up early to make me a very early breakfast at 6.00am on the day I went to Sigirya! Thank you so much sir! The breakfast itself was absolutely fantastic and it is hard to believe that such a lovely meal could be included in the already very reasonable price! The location of the guesthouse is also very good as although it is slightly outside of the main town area you are right next to the Dambulla Cave Temple so if you are mainly here to see the cave temple and Lion rock then it couldn't really be a more perfect location, especially as it is nice and quiet at night! I had such a relaxing stay overall and it really was undoubtedly one of the nicest places I've ever stayed especially when you consider the very reasonable price which even includes a fantastic breakfast! Thank you so much! If I am ever in Dambulla again I won't hesitate to visit! 🙏🏻
