There is simply everything to like about this place: a beautiful place, beautiful rooms , a comfortable bed and a wonderful hoast. Julie makes you feel welcome and at home from the minute you arrive. Scoring out of 10, this place would be a 20 🙂👍

Nothing perfect in every way

Welcoming and lovely breakfast

I was able to change to 'Ful English Breakfast', which was very enjoyable but rather pricy as an 'extra' to a lovely Continental buffet. The property itself was a 'gem' - most unusual and historic ... an old mill - unique in a truly rural setting via a field path, on the bank of the Preston to Kendal canal, very close to the M6 and the railway line and yet 'in the wilds of nowhere' in deepest Lancashire. Owner was vrery pleasant and welcoming.

The proprietor kindly opened the windows for me but I was totally baffled as to how to do it myself. The unusual staircase had a handrail on one side only, the other side was 'open' and felt rather 'scary'. Wifi kept cutting-out in my room but was perfect in the lounge.

We chose the continental breakfast ample choice very enjoyable, lovely cosy dining room with a view of the garden
