Another Room

It’s very cozy and nice.

It’s a little bit far form the city center.

We hebben een geweldige tijd gehad en erg genoten van de gastvrijheid van Rob en Lynn. Ook erg leuk dat ze aandacht aan mijn verjaardag hebben besteed!! We kregen nog ontzettend leuke tips voor de omgeving en de korte roadtrip die we na ons verblijf bij hen nog hebben gemaakt.

My son and husband stayed here a few weeks ago and my son wanted me to pass on this review on his behalf. Staying at Another Room was the best welcome to Scotland that I could’ve asked for. As most other reviews will mention, the room was very clean, well-furnished and -equipped, and comfortable to stay in, and the location is very convenient too; just a short bus ride gets you straight to the centre, and you’re within easy walking distance of the beautiful Portobello Beach – but what’s truly special about Another Room is the level of truly personal hospitality. Lynne and Rob are incredibly friendly and sociable people who are so incredibly welcoming from the moment you meet them. They offer such interesting anecdotes and stories, and, being Edinburgh locals, are really very helpful sources of advice and knowledge on what to do in the city, and, in my case, getting settled in Edinburgh. Lynne’s tip about IKEA alone saved me a huge amount of hassle moving in! They don’t stop there, though – after all, these are two hosts who make above and beyond seem like the bare minimum! Not only do they personally make a wonderful full breakfast for every guest every morning – as well as home-baking plenty of delicious scones and pancakes with homemade jam! – but they went out of their way to make us a special breakfast, a Lorne sausage and egg roll and blueberry porridge, as an example of a breakfast that I could easily make – and have made! – living alone. These specific choices of breakfasts were also very individual; I had mentioned the previous day when we were chatting about how I’d really enjoyed blueberry porridge my first time in Edinburgh, and I had asked Lynne on our first day what the Lorne sausage was, as it’s quite a specific Scottish food that I hadn’t come across before – and just from that Lynne and Rob very kindly decided to personalise my breakfast!

Wonderful location and the proprietors, Linne and Rob, are wonderful. Warm and welcoming with good suggestions for things to do in Edinburgh.

Die Vermieter waren unheimlich herzlich und haben uns super Tipps gegeben. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, unglaublich reichlich, schottisch und mit Whisky. Die Lage war für uns perfekt. Fußläufig zum Meer und fußläufig in die City. Man kann jedoch auch mit dem Bus fahren. Haltestelle vor dem Haus.

Es war alles sehr wohlfühlig. Das Haus liegt zwar an einer lauten Straße, aber unser Zimmer war nach hinten, so dass davon keine Störung ausging.

Fantastic location, lovely big room. Breakfast was superb with home made scones, bread and jam. Hosts were lovely and made us feel very much at home. Had some great conversations over breakfast.
