Akagera Neighbors

This place is in incredible. The staff do so much to make you feel so comfortable as soon as you pull up. We were greeted so warmly and Petite took us for an awesome stroll around the village and to see the sunset. We also had an opportunity to talk to the owners about some of the amazing work they do with the community and to meet some of the children they support. On top of all of that, the food and customer service was absolutely superb! Do yourself a favour and stop here to meet the staff! They have a coffee shop and awesome little bar too. The place is on the main road, and near a bus stop with frequent buses, making it very accessible. Despite that, it is generally very quiet, unless there's music coming from the nearby pub (you can ask to tone it down) or market (you can't ask to tone it down, but should not happen during the night). There is a beautiful garden with flowers and fruit trees. Very personable staff. The manager/associate tried his best to make me feel welcomed and suggest activities i could do. Beside using it as starting point for Akagera park or waterfalls,, the place offers short tours in the nearby village, getting to know more of the local life. There's a women center 10 km away that sells artwork at good prices

Wifi is not very functional

As in any place I stay, I value staff and their attitudes over the facilities. The facilities were basic but clean. The room was spacious with two full beds. The reception and management was very supportive, polite and accommodating.

Nothing really

Very kind, welcoming, caring and helpful personnel, perfect communicaton and really good. They helped us also with informations about national parks. We highly recommend this place! Thank you :-)

Fantastic people from service and very helpfull

Beautiful garden with lots of flowers, fenced yard with parking lot. Very nice and clean room equipped with spacy beds, mosquito net, table, clothes hangers and hot water. Very friendly staff speaking English and French, great manager Alex who also took us for a walk in the neighborhood. Typical breakfast, we got take away breakfast when leaving early for Akagera park. Good choice of drinks at the bar. We would stay again.

The food is overpriced (10.000 RWF per a local dish with fine salad), but ok-ish, depending what you are having, the food shall be rather ordered 1-2 hours in advance or better in the morning.

Friendly staff, nice quiet location next to main road. Love the garden with small seating areas. Good value for money for all the high priced options on or closer to Akagema park
