Akagera Neighbors

Fine place to wind down after a long day in the park. We were treated on Sunday with a community walk and performance by local children who come to the place to learn acrobatics, dancing and drumming (by Akagera Good Neighbors NGO).

Prices in USD Chairs in the garden for dinner and breakfast are a bit uncomfortable for the longer sit. Waiting for dinner takes a while but if you contact them when you're on your way they can start preparing your order.

Location and calming in the communities that we have such open space for the work of my duties

Secretly I haven't like two things that I told the staff.

One of our best experiences in Rwanda! :) Alexis and his team welcomed us very warmly and walked us around the neighborhood. They also cooked delicious local meals for us. Location is perfect if you're on budget and want to get to Akagera Park conveniently. The road to the park is very scenic! We got a take away breakfast for safari which was really fantastic. There is a nice garden where you can rest and enjoy food and local habits. The rooms are simple but clean and have everything you need. The team runs an NGO for street kids delivering artistic workshops and school materials - it's really worth supporting them. Thank you for the great time and valuable lesson. We hope to come back!

The garden was lovely. Good lattes with breakfast. Secure parking. Attentive staff: We arrived at night and the security guard found us driving around in circles and brought us on sight. Manager/owner very friendly and prompt. There is a bar attached if you’d like beers with the locals. And a little tuck shop next door too.

A little hard to find at night. We couldn’t work out how to use the shower but if we asked we would have got assistance straight away as the owner is very friendly and helpful.

Perfect location to start a safari to Akagera Park. The rooms were clean and the staff was really friendly. Besides the Rooms, this accommodation offers a little shop to provide some basic foods for your safari trip

Everyone was super nice and helpful. In the beginning we had a great tour around the place and had awesome views at the hills around. The children in the village were so interested and followed us around. The food is really awesome and the manager Alex will make sure everything ist to ones satisfaction.

We spend 1 night at Akagera neighbours. We loved the warm welcome we received from Alexi and his colleagues! He really took the time to have a little chat, show us around and offer us some dinner with a speciality Rwandan beer. We felt like home instantly. He is a wonderful host! The room is simple but correct. We had hot water for the shower and nice breakfast: omelet with veggies. A nice change of only eggs. The court yard where you can eat was very cosy. recommended!

It’s near Akagera. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and ready to help.

There is a need for the rooms to be updated. A missed a lamp near the bed, that I can use if we get up during the night. The food was not great at dinner.
