The Palace by Ocean

This is honestly the most amazing place we’ve ever stayed! Everything about this hotel is simply perfect — beautiful and spotless rooms, an incredible atmosphere, and a team that truly goes above and beyond for their guests. The service is outstanding, everyone is so kind, helpful, and welcoming. You can really feel how much they care. We’re so grateful for this wonderful experience — it truly felt like a little piece of paradise! 🌴✨

The ambience and location were very good

Although staff were very friendly .. The manager at times was not very accommodative of our requests , food service was also very slow .

- Most expensive hotel we stayed in sri lanka, but the worst experience due to bad service and poor facilities. - Room with pool view was actually a view of the lobby( anyone in hotel could see into the bedroom unless curtains drawn) , and the room with a balcony had a view of building site on the same level with builders waving to you if curtains open. Noisy air vents to hear building work.. bugs in the room.. - No hot water in bath or shower, despite asking.. - Air-conditioning not working and power cut for 6 hours during the night..no staff on reception to ask till 6am. So hot and sweltering night with no sleep.. - Evening dinner mediocre and one meal ( out of 5) not served at all , even after waiting a long time, after everyone else on our table had finished their meals..( no one else was present or eating in the restaurant that evening.) No gesture of goodwill offered by the management to remedy the situation.

The hotel provided a good base for a short trip. Food was a highlight, with satisfying meals. Room comfort was adequate – nothing special, but perfectly functional. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The pool area was nice and a welcome respite from the day. The only real downside was the lack of a view from the room. This was not a deal-breaker, but it did limit the overall experience. Overall, a solid choice for a basic, comfortable, and well-staffed hotel.

Location was a little away from the water sports areas and beach but we enjoyed our stay especially the outdoor heated pool at night
