The Palace by Ocean

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, quiet and peaceful . My room was spotless and beautifully decorated, providing a comfortable and welcoming ambiance. The bathroom was modern, spacious, and exceptionally clean, with all the amenities thoughtfully provided. The staff was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant experience. Their hospitality truly made me feel at home. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay with exceptional service and comfort!

Our stay at the hotel was pleasant, but a few improvements could make it even better. It would have been great to have a mini bar in the room for added convenience. Although there was a kettle and cups, we were surprised to find no tea or coffee stocked. We had to request them from the staff, and while they were provided promptly, having them ready in the room would enhance the experience. Breakfast was nice, but a bit more variety of authentic Sri Lankan dishes would add a special touch. Overall, a comfortable stay, but these small adjustments could make it exceptional! Hope to see those on our next visit😊

Very spacious, grand and look clean and neat. Staff are very friendly and supportive. Enjoyed the company of Ranil Chankara who took us everywhere using the hotel spacious taxi. Very good food particularly veggies. Swimming pool was very good and well maintained

A bit far from the beach

The property & 2 rooms we occupied (King & Queen) were beautiful. Well furnished to a luxury standard and the menu/food was delicious. There were lots of staff always present.

Although beautiful and luxurious, everything seemed to take a long time when you requested something - staff were friendly, yet nothing seemed efficient/organised. Everyone seemed to be doing the same thing and no clear defined roles. With a little bit more organisation, the Hotel would be Top Class. Perhaps, also some local information/knowledge for guests when they arrive would be helpful as a bonus. We would definitely go back, just some advice to improve to perfection.

Breakfast was amazing.it worths more than the price we paid and very friendly staff.

Calm and clean

The property was well maintained. They had two pools- one indoor and one outdoor. Outdoor pool is a new one and very beautiful especially in the evenings. The pool was well maintained, they could alternatively put the treating chemical in the pool and not allow customers when the chemical is there which was well thought form their end. We got a great tuk-tuk driver through them who was friendly, reasonable and helpful beyond his work. Owner of the property was around as well during our stay and is a down to earth person, it was good connecting with him. The breakfast was wonderful and in plenty and overall staff was very friendly and caring.

Our check in was not great, as there was an alternative person to the manager at the reception. She could not communicate in English and we had some price difference coming in her calculations as to ours on the booking. Eventually we got help in translation and figured it out but beyond this the manager was there and he was superb. We visited during the off season, and in that case the location did not feel very ideal. We were not able to find good restaurants around and also realised after that Ahangulla is a posh place and we were more on a budget trip to afford the luxury hotels/ restaurants around.
