IDA'S Homestay

Ida's Homestay is one of the few places in Bali that has never tried to maximize every square meter for profit, and that is exactly what makes it so special. Instead of packing the property with buildings, there are only a handful of simple bungalows spread generously across a beautiful beachfront coconut grove. There is space, light, sea breeze, and a wonderful sense of calm. The bungalows are very basic but clean and comfortable, with mosquito nets, fans, good lighting, and hot water. Everything works, but this is not a modern hotel and does not try to be one. It is an authentic old-Bali experience that has become increasingly rare. The location right by the sea is beautiful and incredibly relaxing. Even with the current construction work along the waterfront in Candidasa, it was not a problem during my stay. The traditional Balinese breakfast was simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious. I have been coming here for almost 30 years, and the place has retained the same charm and atmosphere that made me fall in love with it in the first place. This place is perfect for people who love nature, simplicity, and authenticity. If you are looking for luxury, modern facilities, perfectly sealed hotel rooms, or a completely controlled environment, this may not be the right choice for you. But if you want to experience the Bali that is disappearing elsewhere, Ida's Homestay is a little treasure.

Very basic, no minibar as advertised, or coffee/tea,kettle, or even soap, byo 😁

Location was nice, quiet and you could relax by the ocean, even had cows walking about the property…so cool

Petit-dejeuner moyen, bruits car proximité d une route très passante. Attention au location de scooter chez Ida, si vous arrivez à 14h la location pour la journée vous sera compté. De même si vous repartez à 12h. Par exemple vous louez un scooter au jour j à 12h et vous le rendez à 12h à j+1, vous aurez 2 jours comptés et non 1 jour comme dans tout Bali.

L’ambiance cabane dans la forêt de cocotier , la vue sur la mer. Le personnel est charmant et disponible, le petit déjeuner inclu est très bon et au choix, la carte de restauration avec cuisine locale est super quand on n’a plus envie de sortir de ce havre. J’ai beaucoup aimé la dame qui fait paître sa vache et son veau qui propose ses massages, elle fait ça très bien et c’est trop bon. Pas de Clim , Chambre ouverte avec lit sous moustiquaire. La douche en extérieur. La visite des gecko, petits varans, vache balinaise, écureuils et autres petites bestioles locales et le chant des oiseaux au réveil. Un séjour hors du temps

L’accès à la baignade n’est absolument pas sécurisé, il faut traverser une zone de rochers et gravats avant d’accéder à une minuscule plage de sable et corail mort. Il y a actuellement (avril 2026) des travaux de construction d’une gigantesque digue pour protéger le littoral, donc des tracto-pelles et des rochers sur 5km de long.
