Loved Ida's homestay. Accommodation, location impressive. Excellent value and beautifully situated. The host and staff are simply lovely. Ample room to spread yourself out in.

Absolutely beautiful property. Perfect peaceful retreat. Was a really unique experience staying in a traditional style hut. Located right along the water, surrounded by palm trees. The staff was really kind and welcoming. Having breakfast at our hut looking out to the ocean was always great way to start the day. We even saw monkeys walk across the property one day. We had a really wonderful stay!

Because of the design of the hut, some bugs can get in, but there is a net provided to cover the bed which was helpful!

Throwback in time. Old world, Bali total Robinson Crusoe feeling no pool no TV everything natural wood in tranquil palm tree garden, directly on the beach. Serene and peaceful

Great staff, good access to beach and restaurants. scooter hire on site. Cabins were spacious and had fans. Facilities are more than adequate but don’t expect modern bungalows with AC and flat screens.

Ida's Homestay is an ideal opportunity to get away from the masses but don't expect mod cons. This isn't what it's about. It's about returning to the values of a simple life. You are grateful to be in such natural beauty, and grateful not to be surrounded by concrete. My dog was the happiest he has ever been here. It's only a 20 minute scooter ride to Virgin Beach and we have discovered that you can hire a local fisherman to taxi you over there in his boat for a fee. There is always a member of staff on hand in a non intrusive way. Cold water only showers are usually too cold for me, but the shower temperature was perfectly refreshing. Love the small bay of a beach and the shallow water to float in. The water here must be of high salt content as it was very easy just to float and not worry about being dragged out into the Ocean. Lots of hangers provided. Very clean (if dated) toilet. Effective overhead ceiling fan and small desk fan meant A/C was not missed at all. I was concerned about the reviews of the busy road noise, however, although you can on occasion hear a large truck or a noisy scooter exhaust, it's in passing and not a constant. Focusing on the sound of the Ocean Waves was enough to overcome any sporadic traffic noise. Super safe feeling and it was a real treat to be able to leave the windows open at night to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves. There is also what looks like a museum of super interesting artifacts, and a temple under a large Banyan Tree. Both very special.

The cost of a 1hr basic massage was more than I would have expected at 125 000 IDR. Also, the oil that was used was very thick and did not smell very nice (almost like used cooking oil) and it was applied way too liberally. We ordered a set dinner menu on the first night, and honestly, it wasn't worth 150 000 IDR. Some soup that tasted like a stock cube with water, a too small (but delicious) water spinach dish, skewers with Sate, rice and a fruit plate for dessert. Breakfast of eggs, coffee and fruit is ok, but the bread used for toast is very VERY sweet.

The nylon mozzie net over the bed blocks airflow from the fan; we tied ours up (maybe use cotton mozzie net instead to improve airflow..?). A fan on verandah would be great for when it is still.

Right on a little private beach, could hear the small waves all night was soo amazing. There was multiple different sitting areas near the water or in a hut overlooking the water. Very big grass area with spread out coconut trees that was lovely space to have and run around with our puppies :)
