Sailors' Bay

My partner & I loved our stay here. A great location, right on a more private beach with sun beds to relax in & you can either walk along the beach to find some restaurants or anything else is a quick tuktuk away. Our room and bathroom were clean & we had a working AC. The hosts were so kind & helpful, they helped with arranging a tuktuk when we needed it, they answered any questions we needed & they even offered us ice for my partners swollen sunburnt feet. The dinner food was also amazing. This is our first place we’re staying in Sri Lanka and it’s set our standards really high.

Incredible stay at Sailors bay! The location is on a beautiful quiet beach away from the main crowd but still very accessible to get everywhere. Friendly owners and staff who work there, highly recommend the Sri Lankan hoppers for breakfast. You can hear the ocean from your room at night and the beach is only a step away. Two great restaurants to try near by about a 7 minute walk, and Cargills is 15 minute walk away

Great location on the beach. Quiet and peaceful. Fantastic balcony to relax and watch the ocean. Very secure property. Staff were friendly.

A beautiful residence right out to the beach. The rooms were nice and clean. We opted for breakfast, and it was perfect. Besides a very good breakfadt, we sat right out to the beach to eat. It could hardly be any better. The hosts were very kind, attentive and helpful and arranged a few tours for us and gave good hits about local places. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Would go back again if i ever had the chance.

Location is awesome and the vies is spectacular.

Power went out around midnight, and the room was hot for about an hour, which made everyone very uncomfortable to sleep.

I like the sea view. It is one of the best sea views of down south. Also the small town it is situated, named "Kumarakanda" is a very calm and relaxing town which brings the essence of Sri Lanka's down south village life.

Honestly there's no any note worthy thing to mention which I didn't like about the place, room and my overall experience about my stay. It is just all plus points for me.

The hosts were very welcoming and very friendly, they helped us rent a scooter (which was only 2000 lkr per day), and they were very good at giving recommendations for things to do. They were not pushy at all, and didn't try to sell us any tours or anything that we did not want. The top floor balcony room had a VERY beautiful view, and the room itself was also great. The location is a perfect balance between both Hikkaduwa and Galle, if you want to visit both. Also, the breakfast was good 😊.

We adored everything about Sailors Bay! Sanoj and Dilan (plus extended family) are exceptional hosts who catered to our every need…the rooms were clean and spacious, the breakfast was tasty and more than ample to set you up for the day! The location is INCREDIBLE and you back onto a stunning sandy beach. The hosts supplied us with trusted drivers who charged a fantastic rate, booked us on the best trips / tours, advised us on the way places to eat and more…I would recommend Sailors Bay to anyone! It is a hidden gem 💎
