Nisaki Mathraki B&B

We spent 4 days at Nisaki bnb with Chris and Ksenia and LOVED it. Lovely Sandra picked us up from the port, which was a nice welcome. Every morning a delicious breakfast was waiting for us at Al Fresco, with fresh home made bread and plenty of options to choose from. We tried all of them and they taste great and are healthy. The accommodation is beautiful, located in between the Olive trees with amazing sunset views. The outdoor gym is pretty cool. The island itself is great for hiking and enjoying the beach, but the community of people on the island is what makes it even better. We got to know them during the local Souvlaki night, where Sergio took care of the BBQ like a pro. They treat you like family and make us want to come back. It is clear that Chris and Ksenia really care about the island and people, which is great to see. We also love the Olive Tree program that they started. During the last day of our stay, he took us on a boat trip to goat island. A perfect afternoon, with nice chats and adventures. Highly recommend this. Thanks and hope to see you again.

In no particular order: fresh baked breads and homemade jam; attention to little details; a boat trip to Goat Island; a hand-drawn map; the warmth (of the welcome and the water); the brief feeling of being a part of a greater venture; Chris' phrase "anything is possible"; Ksenia saying "what would you like, my ladies"; the view over the sea; 200 year old olive groves; lush green walks.

Όλα ήταν υπέροχα. Ελάχιστοι τουρίστες, όμορφο ηλιοβασίλεμα, πεζοπορία, τρέξιμο στο βουνό, πρωινό κολύμπι, αμμώδης παραλία, εύγευστο φαγητό και ένα βιβλίο για συντροφιά τις ήσυχες ώρες της ημέρας, συνέθεσαν το τριήμερο μας στο Μαθράκι. Όποιος αναζητάει ηρεμία από τους ξέφρενους ρυθμούς της πόλης, το νησί και το συγκεκριμένο κατάλυμα είναι ιδανικό για να περάσει τις διακοπές του. Ο εξωτερικός χώρος του καταλύματος, «χωμένος» μέσα στις βενετσιάνικες ελιές και με θέα τη θάλασσα, ενίσχυε τις αισθήσεις και προσέφερε μοναδική εμπειρία. Ο Χρήστος και η Ξένια ήταν ευγενικοί, δοτικοί και ιδιαίτερα φιλόξενοι. Να σημειωθεί ότι η Ξένια είναι και εξαιρετική μαγείρισσα. Το πρωινό και το βραδινό ήταν, προς έκπληξη μας, υψηλότατου επιπέδου. Ένας καμβάς υπέροχων χρωμάτων και γεύσεων. Τέτοιες προσπάθειες που γίνονται από ανθρώπους που αγαπάνε τον τόπο τους και θέλουν να τον αναβαθμίσουν πρέπει πραγματικά να υποστηρίζονται από όλους μας. Δυστυχώς, λόγω αναχώρησης μας δεν προλάβαμε την εκδρομή που διοργάνωσε ο Χρήστος με τη βάρκα στο απέναντι ακατοίκητο νησάκι που ονομάζεται Δίαπλο. Θα επισκεφθούμε εκ νέου το εν λόγω κατάλυμα σίγουρα.

L isola è lussureggiante e il mare è cristallino. Ovunque si percepisce serenità. La struttura è gestita con molta attenzione, la cortesia rende la permanenza piacevole, la disponibilità va oltre ogni aspettativa.

Μας άρεσε πολύ η τοποθεσία, τα δωμάτια ήταν καλοδιατηρημενα και καθαρά. Το προσωπικό τρομερά εξυπηρετικό και ο ιδιοκτήτης ο κύριος Κρις πάντα πρόθυμος και ευγενεστατος! Πραγματικά υπέροχη εμπειρία...

Αν θα προτείναμε κάτι, είναι ένα μεγαλύτερο ψυγείο, ένα νεροχύτη για πιάτα και μία τηλεόραση παρόλο που και χωρίς αυτά είναι μια χαρά...

Posizione difficile da raggiungere se non in auto/scooter. Per fortuna il proprietario è sempre disponibile ad accompagnare i clienti

La camera (una specie di piccola casetta) è molto bella e accogliente ma, attenzione: non è sul mare, è nell’entroterra e richiede camminate in salita/discesa di circa 20 minuti per arrivare alla prima spiaggia di sabbia. Ancor di più per le taverne. A me è piaciuto ma va chiarito perché potrebbe non essere per tutti. In struttura è possibile affittare golf cart (€ 60 al giorno) o bici elettriche. La vista è molto bella e il luogo è bucolico e rilassante in mezzo alla natura.

Nonostante la colazione inclusa ti fanno pagare per qualsiasi “variazione” di scelta rispetto al loro menù colazione. Una mattina ho chiesto un cappuccino al posto del caffè filtrato e l’ho pagato 6 €, un caffè americano 4,5 €. Per il prezzo che si paga per soggiornare in questa struttura non è un trattamento molto piacevole e consono. All’ingresso della camera, sotto il portico c’è una piccola area attrezzata da palestra: la proprietaria ci ha sgridati perché il bambino andava in mezzo agli attrezzi ed era pericoloso. Concordo con lei e abbiamo sempre controllato il bimbo: il problema è che l’area gym non è chiusa o separata, è proprio a lato dell’ingresso della camera, dove si mette lo stendino e c’è il salottino per rilassarsi.

Excellent breakfasts, breathtaking sunsets, quiet sandy beach with allocated sunbeds for guests. Both hosts going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Nisaki Mathraki is a hidden gem. The place is on an isle which is secluded but offers enough waking paths to discover something new each day. We have even experienced traditional village evening in the local Greek tavern with delicious Souvlaki.
