Laings Lodge

Location was good, quiet and rehabilitating. There was miscommunication regarding breakfast during booking so no breakfast served.

It was good for us.

Appreciated air conditioning and fridge. Very nice shower. Nice scented shower gel. Good mattress.

Thick uncomfortable pillows. But mostly: Room was musty, strong smell of previous occupants. Had to wipe down all surfaces with hand towel and the shower soap to try and reduce. Somebody had urinated on the bush outside. Please clean aircon unit.

We did not have breakfast, as we left early and the location was convenient and very easy to find.

In the bathroom, the soap dispenser was fixed to the basin, which means it could not be moved to the bath, and there was no soap dispenser at the bath.

The premises were easy to find. The room and en suite were spotless. Furnishings were comfortable. There was adequate provision of self-catering appliances and cutlery and crockery, etc. Secure parking was available outside of the room. Local supermarket was a two-minute walk from the premises. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

One of the saucepans was burnt on the base. Fortunately dishwashing soap and scourer were provided. It only took a little elbow grease to get the saucepan sparkling ready for use.
