Our three-night stay was one of the absolute highlights of three weeks in Europe. The wonderfully historic space has been renovated with the modern conveniences you need, but the friendliness and hospitality of Roberto is what takes it to another level. For the free breakfast, you sit down in Roberto's shop and he brings you pastries, cheese, meat, bread, juice, coffee drinks made to order, and fresh fruit until you are full and satisfied. All this with such friendliness and good humor. It's a perfect place from which to start your day of exploring Umbria. The small ancient hill-top town of Montecchio is a great place for elevated views over the sublime countryside (see my picture from the kitchen window), and a relaxing stroll to start or end your day. A good place to stay, but also an experience my family will remember and talk about for a long time.

De service van de eigenaar en zijn personeel. Een speciale manier van logeren in een voormalig kasteel. De historische setting.

Het bed vonden wij niet erg lekker liggen. Maar dat is persoonlijk natuurlijk.

Roberto è l'anima di questo posto. Ne conosce strade, storie, memorie e persone. Il soggiorno si trasforma in un'esperienza che va ben oltre il solo stop and go. Un posto dove tornare per sentirsi a casa, grazie dell'ospitalità e a presto!

Beautiful castle town with wonderful hosting by Roberto. Excellent local shop and museum and a really wonderful stop for the night.

A bit hot in the summer with no AC but that is more our fault!
