The boat to the place was actually beautiful and the area is really small and not too touristy with beautiful scenery.

We were supposed to stay in Nong Khiaw but booking.com took us to this place without realising it was not in the same area. We had to get a slow boat for 1 hour from Nong Khiaw. When I realised it was in the wrong place I tried to cancel the booking but the woman wouldn’t let me cancel without charging me for full stay. She was very forceful about it over the phone and wouldn’t take no for an answer. The communication was poor over message, when we tried to get from Nong Khiaw to the hostel, we asked her for advice and if she could offer transport. She tried to charge us 600,000 kip which is extortionate. When we went to the slowboat pier they took us for 70,000 kip per person. It was difficult to find the actual place when we arrived by boat, it looks like a derelict house from the outside with rubbish everywhere. The woman was very rude and blunt, she convinced us to go on a private fishing tour with her brother that cost us 1,000,000 kip!! We found out later on that you can do the same trip with other people for nearly half the price. She is so focused on taking your money I don’t think she actually cares about your stay. I saw her be very rude to a customer at her restaurant. She was actively being rude to a guest because he used “too many tea leaves” for his tea and was “making her life harder”. She is so blunt and has no customer service skills at all. The room was basic and had an okay view. The guy who worked there seemed really nice but she is not nice at all. I would not recommend to stay here.

The place is lovely. You can see that penny and her husband are working so hard. They are helping you with everything. The place is amazing with a good vieuw! I hope we will go back someday! Thanks penny en your husband for everything!

Comfiest bed I had in Laos. Large bathroom with plenty of room for shower. The hosts were very welcoming, friendly, and great to chat with.

Clean, comfortable room with great view. Good location to restaurants, shops and attractions. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to book again!

Wonderful wiev from the terrace - laid back feeling, nice and relaxed. Very good breakfast.

Rooms a bit small.

Gabriel, the very helpful manager, who picked us up at the landing and brought us also back again and gave us all sorts of practical tourist infos.
