Wester Auchraw Croft B&B

Beautifully designed house, really comfortable bed, absolutely divine breakfast and a wonderful, warm host. Special atmosphere, couldn’t have asked for a nicer overnight.

Lovely stay. The property is in an excellent location for exploring the nearby hills. Perfectly clean, beautifully presented yurt and house. One of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten when staying in any accommodation.

The yurt was cozy and warm and perfect, and we found everything we needed, even hot water bottles. The loch is only a few minutes walk away, and beautiful for swimming. The building is stunning. Melanie is incredibly generous and interesting. It may have been the best breakfast we have ever had, healing and delicious, locally sourced and made with amazing skill, and we've been trying to recreate it at home.

Chosen for its historic interest and close proximity to Balquhidder, this property ticked all our boxes! Melanie was a very friendly host and most accommodating of our later than expected arrival. Breakfast was a relaxed affair and her whiskey porridge will be a stand-out memory!

The bedroom was a little cool but this proved beneficial as we enjoyed the deepest and most satisfying sleep of our whole holiday!

Nothing to like

This was completely wrongly described as a de luxe triple room with shared bathroom. What we did not expect was to be camping in a yurt in the garden, with a very unimpressive bathroom along a garden path in a separate house. The owner was not present and did not respond to our phone calls. After waiting for 1 1/2 hours we got through to her and her reponse to our queries was that we were adults able to take it in our stride. We left and luckily found alternative accommodation. We received no offer of repayment and so lost our full payment. This accommodation should not be allowed to be advertised on Booking.com unless it is made clear that basically you are camping. As it is it is seriously mis-sold.

Zéér vriendelijke gastvrouw, mooie B&B in is een oude boerderij van de 18e eeuw

Wij hadden een kamer met beschrijving "Deluxe 3-persoons kamer" gereserveerd voor € 188, we kregen een Yurt. Hier is Booking.com volledig in de fout gegaan, de eerste foto's geven een beeld van de B&B zelf, welke er top uitziet, en het is ook zo. Als je enkele foto's verder scrolt krijg je de Yurt in het zicht, te laat want men kijkt zo ver niet. Op zich geen probleem, als we dit geweten hadden toen we reserveerden, hadden we dit niet genomen. 8 uur onderweg geweest met de motor, moe, en dan nog zelf de kachel moeten aansteken om het een beetje warm te krijgen in de Yurt. 's Nachts naar het toilet gaan in de bosjes, douchen in een gemeenschappelijke badkamer enz..... Op zich ook weer geen probleem, als je dit op voorhand weet.
