Megstone House

The breakfast were amazing and set us up for the day. Nothing was too much trouble for Donna and Paul and there was so much choice.

The hosts Donna and Paul were absolutely lovely and very friendly people. They couldn't do anymore to make you feel welcome. The room was spacious, pristinely clean, and had lots of character. There were also some thoughtful little touches in the room which many wouldn't have thought about. The breakfast was fantastic and plentiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay and if (and when) we're in the area again we will definitely stay here without hesitation. We would both highly recommend staying here. Nick and Martina

Easy - Nothing.

If you are lucky enough to find availability here, book now and read this review afterward. Trust us on that! Donna and Paul are sincere, warm and welcoming people who do their utmost to look after you in every way. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and very well appointed as was the breakfast room. What breakfasts, too; a beautifully laid table with fresh fruit and a wide variety of jams and cereals followed by a generous, perfectly cooked breakfast just as you like it, or even porridge which Paul made especially for us! Donna and Paul really know their area well and are ready to advise you or offer any help you need. After a bus timetable mis-hap, they even called a friend who very kindly drove us to Lindisfarne! How incredibly thoughtful, they really saved the day. Situated for easy access to the town and harbour or the road directly to St Aiden's beach with it's dunes and amazing vistas, Megstone House is in the perfect location. It is also close to two bus stops that can take you to Bamburgh and on to the station in Berwick, or to Alnwick in the opposite direction. The other couples staying at the same time as us have been visiting Megstone House for years and we quickly realised why. Donna and Paul are genuinely lovely people who look after you in a warm but relaxed way that makes you feel so comfortable. Top tip: book a boat trip to visit the Farne islands. It's an incredible experience that you don't want to miss. You can also catch a boat to Lindisfarne from Seahouses, another fine reason to stay at Megstone House. Enjoy!

Beautiful home in a quiet area a little bit out of town but within walking distance of all the attractions and restaurants in Seahouses. Donna and Paul made us feel so welcome, from the first call to let us know our room was ready early, to waving us good bye as we left in the morning. Huge comfortable bedroom, lovely dining room and a wonderful breakfast. Perfect place to unwind at the end of a busy day in this gorgeous seaside town. Donna recommended the restaurant in the hotel opposite for dinner. It was quiet, food was delicious and the staff were lovely. Would highly recommend a stay at Megstone.

The best B&B we've ever stayed in, and that was because of the warm atmosphere created by Donna and Paul. They really are the kindest hosts, who want to help you get the most out of your time in their beautiful part of the world. Everything else was great - the room was massive, clean, good location, and breakfast delicious, but what made it unique was the friendly atmosphere. While we were there we met 3 different groups of guests who had been coming back for years, and it was obvious why! We would love to stay again!
