The Bay Tree was centrally located in the heart of Southport with close proximity to the promenade. Cleo made me feel welcome on arrival and Leigh made a wonderful breakfast and to a very high standard. Nothing was too much trouble for them as they went the extra mile. My room was very spacious and the power shower was lovely with complimentary products and my room was kept clean and towels replenished when needed. I had to leave early because of my train home and was provided with a pot of tea, cereal and toast before I left which was half an hour before the time allocated to other guests. I didn't ask for a full breakfast at the risk of being cheeky but assume they would have accommodated this request. Would love to stay at the Bay House again in the future. Michelle from Wigan

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bay Tree House, Southport. Cleo and Leigh were excellent hosts and very friendly. Our room was perfect for us, the bed was very comfortable and the room exceptionally clean. There is a small fridge with mini bar which was so useful. The breakfast was amazing, freshly cooked and delicious. We loved the location as it is in a quiet area but close to Lord Street and to the pier.

Didn't have breakfast, due to not getting any sleep at all on the £20 mattress, that would have found a better home in a builder's skip, note to all hoteliers you can't turn a rubbish mattress into a good one with the addition of a mattress topper, in layman's terms you can't polish a turd.

The bed was the worst I have slept on, sorry just lie on, you could feel the base and it's not like I'm very heavy! For me the number 1 priority of any hotelier or bed and breakfast proprietor is to make sure that the bed is fit for purpose, ie you can sleep on it. I dance and the only reason I stopped there was because the place I was dancing the accommodation was woefully inadequate, instead I ended up jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Totally ruined my weekend as I drove back on the Saturday, Totally shattered, which I know was very dangerous, just wanted out of there. Note to all who run guest houses, invest in a quality memory foam mattress, I think that's the least the customers deserve. Don't you!
