Very welcoming hosts, clean room, in the middle of white town so walkable distance to all sights. The breakfast was very copious.

If you're staying in Pondicherry, cant recommend any place better than Dumas street. The property is a heritage property spanning over 200 years. I loved the architecture, the inner courtyards, and the décor. the inner courtyard is lit with beautiful lights at night. The superior room is very large! The breakfast is amazing and the front office staff are polite and helpful. Dumas café is in the front, and serves great coffee and French pastries, and the café next door is great for French cuisine. Overall a great stay!

The rooms can be dark without opening the louvers, which can affect your privacy. The bathroom is not ventilated, and the smell can be felt inside bedrooms... having said that, the property keeps to it's originality. I didn't particularly like the breakfast area tables/chairs - which can be uncomfortable. The mattresses should be better.
