Homelike feel, good location

We spent three weeks in various locations around southern Alaska. This was the only place we stayed in those three weeks that was just plain DIRTY! Bathroom (shared bath but we were only guests on our first of three nights) was NOT cleaned prior to our arrival. Be sure you realize this is a shared bath with as many as six ( or more) people. My wife found some cleaning chemicals and did a partial cleaning before we used the toilet or shower. It was just nasty, no other polite way to get that point across. I could go on but the point is made. We wipe down touch surfaces with disinfect wipes each new place upon arrival. Our normal experience is that the wipes are clean looking or very lightly soiled after a once over wipe down, not the case here, it was discolored, disgusting! A look under our bed prior to departure revealed what appeared to be months (if not more) of accumulated dirt, dust and debris. Location was good, central to the three places we wanted to visit in this area. Kate was an absolute pleasure to talk with and very knowledgeable and personable. Enjoyed hearing her stories of the area, the town and her family. Wonderful breakfast each morning, with omelet, pancakes, fruit and coffee.

Breakfast was superb! Best meal during my 2 wks visiting Alaska! Great accommodations! Kate & crew were all very welcoming and absolutely delightful! So glad to have found this place!

Kate was so sweet! The whole place has her eclectic personal touch and the breakfast was great. Loved our room!

We had two rooms and one was definitely bigger than the other. Just something to consider

Very small bedroom, very little to do in the evening.

Excellent breakfast. Helpful hostess.

The rooms are rather small and there is one shared bathroom for three rooms. There is no A/C which may be an issue in mid summer.

The host Kate is absolutely fabulous.

It wasnt as clean as what we are expecting. Bed linen had white stains, floor was dirty and shared bathroom was dirty with hairs etc
