If you’re looking for a warm Scottish welcome, keep looking. We paid for a night here, but after 5 minutes with the owner, we decided that losing our money was a small price to pay for our dignity and freedom. We made the ‘audacious’ error of arriving before check in simply to ask if we could leave the car in the (empty) car park while we walked into the village. (The car parking down there was full). I’ve seen more warmth in a forensic pathology lab. The owner’s reaction was so aggressively hostile you’d have thought I’d asked to store a radioactive isotope in their pantry. Honestly, the intake process at Guantanamo Bay probably involves more smiles and a more flexible parking policy. We chose to drive away and pay for a second hotel elsewhere rather than spend a single night under the thumb of such a charming warden. If you enjoy being treated like a trespassing convict, this is the place for you. Otherwise keep driving.

Lovely warm room, friendly hostess

An amazing B&B and easily my favourite stay along the Great Glen Way. The room was incredibly comfortable and spotless and I had one of the best sleeps of the trip. Breakfast was outstanding and very filling, a continental spread with homemade jam, granola and fresh strawberries, plus a huge bacon roll. I genuinely could not fault anything. I did see comments about there being a lot of rules but these are clearly explained in advance, are completely reasonable and easy to follow. It is someone’s home after all, so requests such as no takeaways or smoking are entirely fair. I would absolutely stay again and highly recommend.

Comfortable room and very peaceful. Easy check in. Coffee and tea making facilities in room. 7 or 8 mins walk from shops and pubs/restaurants.
