Historic inn with beautiful rooms and art. The price included a first rate breakfast. They also surprised us with a lovely bottle of wine shortly after we checked in. Wonderful staff. Definitely recommended!

No room controls for AC. We froze at night in the room. Would not recommend or stay again.

Wonderful staff and beautiful property. The brunch is beyond excellent. Very personable attention and extremely comfortable beds, gorgeous rooms and can’t wait to be there again.

It was a very unique place to stay! We stayed in the Piedmont Suite and we enjoyed the jacuzzi tub! The room was very spacious. The Piedmont was downstairs and the food and mimosas were great too! Very friendly staff!

Stayed in the Wachovia Room. Nice and spacious. Loved the classic B&B historical decor. There was another room with a single door between us with another couple staying and they appeared to not understand the door was to another bedroom. Wouldn't hurt to make sure to communicate that better.

We enjoyed staying in the beautiful historical home, and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

Very charming.beautiful property. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast, which was included (to order), was delicious and hearty. Easy walk to bars and restaurants as well as to historic old salem. If we are in the area again, we will not hesitate to stay at The Shaffner again.

The room and facilities were fantastic. We really enjoy places with character and the building certainly has that. Every employee that we encountered treated us like old friends and took care of our every need. The breakfast in the resturant was delicious! Would definitely recommend!! Will stay here again if in the area!!
