Balcarres Bed and Breakfast

Very good breakfast, nice conversations and good advice on things to do.

Nice comfy room, splendid breakfast, friendly host and a splendid location to go on a hike on Ben Nevis

Hosts, Andy and Carol, were very welcoming and very helpful with local information. Breakfasts were excellent and hosts were very attentive.

We had a lovely time at Balcarres, which is perfectly located to go hiking on Ben Nevis, at Glencoe or the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Our rooms had beautiful views of the loch. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side but very cozy and clean. There is also a small drying room to dry wet outer wear and shoes overnight. The living room for the guests has books, dvds and a TV to enjoy a relaxed evening. Carol and Andy were great hosts who were able to give us perfect hiking recommendations for our respective needs. We were also given a folder with day-trip, hiking and restaurant recommendations for the area. The breakfast consisted of yoghurt, fresh fruits, porridge and a variety of menus to choose from. All in all, we definitely recommend a stay at Balcarres and would like to stay there again in the future!

Everthing was phenomenal, especially our hosts! Clean, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and really good location.
