Balcarres Bed and Breakfast

The hosts were very friendly and extraordinarily helpful, going above and beyond what you would normally expect.

Hosts were delightful - very helpful with information about the surrounding area and hikes, and nice to talk to. Breakfast was delish. I left early one morning (5:30am) to hike up Ben Nevis and the hosts packed me a lunch the night before. Brilliant. Easy stroll into town from the location for dinners, etc.

Disappointing breakfast all pre ordered the night before so it was a heat up in a microwave

They don’t make up your room each day no fresh towels bin overflowing

The location is convenient. It takes 12 minutes’ walk to restaurants in the city center and a 10 minutes’ drive to the Ben Nevis Visitor Center. The house is tidy and everything is arranged in order. The host provides detailed information on dining and activities, which is very useful. It’s very thoughtful that a drying room where travelers can put away clothes and shoes that are stained with mud after hiking. We had breakfast with a beautiful view of the lake through the window, which was wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised by the salmon scrambled eggs. A lovely stay.

There’s was nothing we didn’t like at the property , we would stay again . We had nowhere to dry our bathroom towels after showering as the bathroom radiator didn’t come on

Andy and Carole were perfect hosts! Our room, view, comfort and made to order breakfast were awesome! Had a wonderful visit and very good conversation! Thanks! Enjoyed our visit to Glenfinnan and to the Viaduct! Dinner at Ben Nevis in Ft William was very good! Hi to Douglas! THAT VIEW! ❤️

The room price of £194 was pretty steep for a basic double room. However, location made up for it.
