Rock Villa Relax City Resort

I booked one night to see sunrise at Mihintale Rock, and I stayed 2 more because I enjoyed the place so much. The host, Kapila, is a former tour guide with expert knowledge of the area and its history; he and his family will welcome you with big smiles, fun conversation, tips on navigating Mihintale and Anuradhapura, and delicious meals. I highly recommend using the villa as your base for exploring Mihintale’s many sites (walkable from the villa) and for taking a 30-minute bus or tuk tuk to Anuradhapura. Pro tip: do NOT miss sunrise at Mihintale Rock/Temple Complex, sunset at Rajagiri Caves, a meditative walk through Kaludiya Pokuna, and a nighttime bike ride to the many holy sites of Anuradhapura.

If you’re not vigilant, the monkeys will steal your welcome cookies and bananas 🙈🙊

Very nice stay, the host is very kind and we enjoyed delicious meals.

Kapila was very helpful in everything especially in getting a trip for wilpatu national park. Delicious and abundant meals with us eating breakfast and dinner each of our three days there. Very tranquil setting. Thanks to trees it was cool out on the veranda. Excellent AC and shower. Lots of wonderful conversations with Kapila.

Amazing breakfast, super helpful host, stays 7min walking from the start of the stairs to the Mihintale Rock, has a couple of local food restaurants just on the side of it aswell. Perfect home stay.

It was a wonderful stay in the homestay. The host was a super friendly man, who gave us a nice a tour arouns the town. He used to be a guide, so knew a lot of background information. The room was cool and clean. Breakfast was excellent and more than enough. All in one a excellent experience.

Friendly owner, who gave us helpful advices about Mihintale. Room and attached bathroom were in good condition. Wifi works well. Breakfast is good, but really expensive.

Maybe cleanness can be better in bathroom.

Everything about this homestay is perfect! The food, the host, the location, the room. We wish we could have stayed longer. The host is so amazing and thoughtful and so knowledgeable on the area/ buddhist history. The food was incredible and Kapila really went above and beyond (he even taught me how to drive a tuk tuk). Staying at this homestay really made our trip to Anuradhapura/ Mihintale so special.
