Rock Villa Relax City Resort

Such a warm welcome at rock villa relax! We came by bus from wilpattu area and it was very easy to find from the busstop in mihintale. The owner welcomed us happily with a fresh Juice and some fruit, wich was very welcome after the busdrive. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower nice. Both warm and cold water possibility We stayed for two days. On our first day we strolled around mihintale and sat for a While at the old stupa to spend some time in between the monkeys. The next day we had breakfast with enough food for two days!! Haha! They were very willing to make us something special and after we took a half day trip to anuradhapura with the owner of Rock Villa, who's also a very good guide! The other half of the day we walked up to the ancient pont and climmed the Mountain with old cave to see the sunset. Both very nice to see and experience. We walked back to rock villa where a loveley Rice and curry was served, again enough food and very nice! We are happy we spend our nights at rock villa, with very good service and also in mihintale in stead of the busy anuradhapura. We recommend this place!

The home stay location is very close to Mihintale rock where is a perfect place to enjoy the sunset

Hospitality of the owner. Before our arrival we were in contact. A babycot was arranged for our youngest son. Toys were available to play with for the kids. Owners prepared everything they asked for the kids.

Cleanliness: especially the bathroom.

The location was brilliant for seeing all the sights of Mihantale & Caprillo our host was so helpful in advising us too, he is the best host. The place was lovely & comfortable & we were cooked the most exceptionally delicious curry dinners in the evenings, we absolutely loved the food! Breakfast was also wonderful. Mihantale itself is beautiful & interesting to explore too & we would recommend definitely staying here to see it. The best guest house we've stayed in throughout our holiday!

Very caring and kind host who does his utmost to make his guests feel comfortable and at home. Breakfasts and dinners were great, with new surprises every day. The property is about 300 meters from the main junction and small commercial center of Mihintale, i.e. close to banks, bakers, pharmacies and food and fruit shops. Nevertheless, it was quiet, aside from occasional monkeys scampering across the roof top. Hold on to your bananas!

We really liked this place. Once we came there we were warmly welcomed by the host. We had the budget room with a fan, we were kindly offered the larger room with AC, but we were okay with the budget room. Room was small, but clean and had a private bathroom with hot water. After a welcome drink, he asked us if we needed a guide to see Mihintale and when we said no because we liked to walk it ourselves, he kindly explained the walking route (everythingwas very close by) with a little background information. He gave me his Sarong to borrow to cover my knees at the temple and we were off to a nice hike. Later we found out he was a tour guide himself as he was guiding other tourists around the temple with a big smile when he saw us. We had delicious dinner and breakfast and were offered constantly more food or other things because he did not want us to come anything short. Definitely recommend!

Perfect place to stay for exploring Mihintale as it's a short walk from the guest house. Very close by are shops, restaurants and a bus terminal so if you are visiting Anuradhapura and want to stay somewhere not as busy this is easy to get to. I would recommend a stay here.
