B&B Villa al Lago

One of those rare B&Bs that let you feel like aristocracy without breaking the bank, whether it's the breathtaking views of the lake and Dolomites right from your bed, or the perfectly clean & artsy interior everywhere, including the unbelievably spacious bathroom. Also, as a 187 cm / 6'2'' man, I really appreciated the long, comfortable king-sized bed - I slept like a baby (and appreciated its classic design, which added to the luxury feel). As for the location, besides providing a majestic landscape, it is exceptionally peaceful. The railroad is nearby but very quiet and soothing, and there's barely any car traffic. There is a nice short walk towards the lakeshore directly from the door, which was easy and enjoyed by our kids (10 & 12). Of course, steep mountain trails and other picturesque places are also nearby, e.g. the historic village of Erto (30 min drive) - probably the most beautiful Alpine village I've seen! Also, Venice and Cortina are just ≈1hr away. An affordable Eni gas station with very kind staff is close by (Bastia, 5 km away). Last but not least, Jessica and her mother are very kind, pleasant, and helpful - and everything was so simple, including paying by card. Our preference for a late 9 am all-vegetarian breakfast was perfectly catered for. The host just does a marvelous job of making you feel comfortable and well-cared-for without being smothered or intruded upon. In short, we absolutely loved it, and have already started recommending it to our friends. I have never given an all-10 review to a stay before, but this one deserves it!

The views from the windows were magical. The location and value for the money were exceptional.

Check in took a couple days to confirm and I arrived late so I was unsure if there was a room waiting for me or not. But the host communicated through prompt emails and was extremely accommodating when I arrived.
