The Little Lion Inn, Red Lion

It was a beautifully decorated, cosy room with en-suite shower. The room provided everything you needed and had an excellent coffee/tea tray. They had thought of everything- ear plugs, fan, hairdryer etc. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The pub is lovely and pizzas were very good!

Small rooms, but do have character. Limited menu for evening meal. Breakfast was disappointing. I'd asked for pain au chocolate, but that meant there was nothing to use our jam etc on. Would have preferred a cooked breakfast.

A good stay in a charming above a charming pub. The room was all I needed.

It was quite noisy with the pub downstairs until quite late. But overall this was a minor irritation for me and not a major problem.

The Red Lion is a really nice pub in the village of Wellengore, which is conveniently located about 10 miles outside Lincoln. It was a perfect location for me to breakup a trip up north from London. The food is good standard pub fair and the beer is good as well. My room was quiet and very clean.

As regards the breakfasts, these were Continental only in our room but we were aware of this at the time of booking and this was fine for us. The pub restaurant was very good for evening meals and the home prepared / cooked pizzas were superb. The pub had a great atmosphere and good parking facilities. The shower was nice and hot. The Guinness was excellent ! The Red Lion is conveniently located for the shops and facilities at nearby Navenby.

Our room was a little constrained with no wardrobe but hanging space for clothes but that was the nature of the building. The host mentioned we could have a larger room next time (subject to availability). Not a major problem as the other attractions of the pub outweighed this and the room was comfortable.
