"Bad experience with staff"

4.0

The hotel is clean and the rooms are comfortable.

We were very disappointed by the treatment of the staff. We felt cheated. They invent things to get your money. We had to go to Agra and they told us it was worth 14,000 rps, while all the agencies in the area were offering it for 9,000 rps. They used the conflict with Pakistan to make us feel unsafe and to make us stay there. Also, one night there was literally a tiger inside the resort, it is not safe at all. They made us go by car the next night for security inside the resort and the next day they said that nothing was happening.

"Excellent stay, will be returning, and recommending to friends! Thank you!"

10.0

Charming property with outstanding views of the Ranthambore National Park from the infinity pool. The staff were superb. Property manager Jyoti was omnipresent, and always so helpful. One day when I returned quite late from a Safari trip, she ensured fresh delicious breakfast (stuffed parathas and omelette!) was prepared for me. Property owners Goverdhan and Usha spend lot of time and effort in carrying out charitable work including health services and education. Usha is a mine of information and is full of helpful tips on how to explore Ranthambore and surrounding places. I felt very privileged to have had the opportunity to stay at the very house where Fateh Singh Rathore, the ‘Tiger Man of India’, used to live. It’s truly very generous of the owners to share the house with guests. The hotel gardens are full of bird life, and there was even a nest of Red-vented bulbuls within a climber right outside my room! Other birds spotted, and photographed in the grounds included, tailor bird, Ashy prinia, Golden orioles (so many!), Iora, magpie robins, coppersmith barbet, brown-headed barbet, drongo, yellow-footed green pigeon, rock pigeons, doves, purple sunbirds and so many more! One bug bear for me was trying to book the Ranthambore safari over the Rajasthan tourism website. The site is extremely user unfriendly and I had to give up in the end! Got my bookings done via Danish Alam (details on Fateh website) and that proved be the quickest and easiest way to book a safari. The Gypsy safaris are usually sold out well in advance and I went on a morning ‘Cantor’ safari, which was actually pretty good, particularly due to the fact you are in a higher view point, compared to the Gypsy. I saw two grown cubs, apparently 5th generation down from the famous ‘Machli’ tigress! Also saw, sloth bear, wild boar, chital deer, sambhar deer and many birds, including a peacock exhibiting the dancing display of its feathery finery!

Nil of note.

"Good but much Overpriced"

6.0

Cleanliness and linen of the room n bathroom . Food taste was good

Much overpriced, the facilities were worth of max.4-5k. Basic rooms, bathroom on the ground floor with common balcony so no privacy. Small property, staff wasn’t exactly engaging…we asked them about things to do other than safari, no answers given. Other similar hotels provided guided nature walks etc. No room service or food allowed at pool which disappointed but still understandable as it may attract insects. Overall..disappointing ☹️

"Highly highly recommend for a great stay and great price. Would 100% come back!"

The property is beautifully-presented in a garden oasis. The staff are very welcoming and the Property is in excellent condition with a great massage room and very quiet pool area overlooking the mountain. It’s also a 2 minute walk to a fantastic restaurant Fateh’s cafe which does some of the best Indian food I’ve eaten at a very affordable cost in a clean and sanitary setting. It even has a cute flower garden at the front! Top experience!

Fateh's Retreat is a very calm and serene place with a lot of natural beauty. There are a lot of birds which chirp prettily and make for a very pleasant experience. Our room was comfortable and our host Jyoti was very nice to talk to. The meals at Fateh's Cafe were tasty and the pond in front of the cafe was very beautiful. It was a wonderful stay and we returned rejuvenated.
