Baan Pak Rim Kuaen Resort

Beautiful location! Lovely wooden buildings in a well maintained garden full of amazing plants and lots of greenery with a picturesque river at the bottom of the resort. So relaxing and peaceful. Huge rooms. Quiet resort close to dam. Staff friendly.

No restaurant. They have coffee and bread for breakfast but nothing else.

Great budget resort, the staff was very friendly, the garden was stunning, the rooms were basic but clean. The airconditioning was working well. The location was just a short drive from the Ratchaprapha Marina, from where the boat trips on the lake in Khao Sok start (if you book a hotel near the Khao Sok HQ, the drive to the marina is roughly one hour, one way).

The resort does not have a kitchen and does not serve drinks or breakfast. For breakfast they did have some toast and instant coffee, but the nearest place to have a proper breakfast was 1.6km/1mi away (one way). The place was called 'Khum Ka La Hua Cafe & Farm Stay' and opens for breakfast at 8:30am (their road sign says 10am, but they open at 8:30). The nearest 7-Eleven is 3.6km/2mi away. All this would not be a problem if you have your own car or motorbike, but unfortunately we could only rent one motorbike for the four of us. Which was a bit of a logistical challenge. Using the one motorboke we drove to all other motorbike places nearby, but none had a second motorbike we could rent. So my recommendation would be to try and arrange the motorbike before you arrive. For diner you can go to the resort next door, which was just a short walk, but they don't serve breakfast. In the end two of us just walked to Khum Ka La Hua and the others used the motorbike. One other thing to comment is that the beds were very hard. And that is quite common for budget places in Thailand. Despite these minor hiccups we really enjoyed our stay. The lake at Khao Sok is beautiful, next day we went bamboo rafting (which was nice and calm and a beautiful experience) and on our last evening my wife and I took the motorbike to ride up to Chiew Larn Lake View Point to enjoy a stunning sunset over the lake.

Nice and clean. But only taxi can bring you to this place or private car. And the taxi is not cheap.

Nothing we had to change from this hotel to the jin dam resort. Impossible to get refund.

Quaint cottages in the most beautiful surroundings run by the nicest people. Walk down to river and check out the rope swing.
