Lulworth Cove Inn

Location was perfect , room was very nice.

Had to wait 15 minutes to be checked into our room , upon arrival took 10minutes for someone to even acknowledge us , only to be told 'we are very busy' , didn't look that busy to the both of us.After that encounter , not one member of staff spoke to us , also we were told to log on & order/pay for a car park pass , something the hotel should supply at the point of booking , also paid in excess of £600 for three nights to be told breakfast was not included. No problem with the actual hotel/room , but to not include breakfast is ridiculous.

The staff were excellent and a real credit the Inn. We had been given a room that didn't match our expectations of what we booked (images showed a larger room with bath, we received a small room and no bath so worth checking before hand) but they quickly and helpfully sorting things out. Also the breakfast selection was perfect for a pre-hike meal.

The quality of the food was really inconsistent. The breakfast selection was great and good value, fresh pastries, etc, but we ordered poached eggs and they were under done (a large part of whites were still clear and uncooked). We also had a beef roast - the yorkshire puddings were amazing but the beef was really terrible - full of hard tough gristle and overcooked and dry. The potatoes were undercooked and hard in the middle. Also the meat portions were small for the price. The a la carte menu is really inconsistent in quality and overpriced. Again the staff dealt with it brilliantly and turned the experience around.

We found the 9.30 Sunday breakfast curfew a little tight for a relaxing and indulgent weekend break
