We were welcomed by a delightful host as if we were family friends. Nearby secure parking. Lovely spacious, characterful room with delightful view of the ancient church. The church bells rang to accompany the sunset! Clean and comfortable with all essentials. We had a good nights sleep without disturbance. A diy breakfast is provided which was perfect for our requirements.

There are no frills or pretentiousness, just excellent value and essentials. Do not expect rose petals on the bed or bling decor. The stairs up to the 2nd floor are not for the faint hearted . The decor is spotless but some might call dated.

A modest but good size room

Lovely view out of the bedroom window of All Saints Church with its England flag flying high and proud.Larhe spacious bedroom with a traditional old fireplace in the room was also a nice touch.

Nice to have breakfast box. Room large and clean

No lift to room at top. Staircase narrow so difficult to safely carry bags up. Slow to check in Shower difficult to use as mixer taps over a bath

Not 24 hour reception, directed to bar via a notice at the desk. Lady polite but in no rush to check us in. Room up 4 flights of stairs with a banister that is wobbley in places, no lift so not disabled friendly. Room lovely, in keeping with the period, lovely fireplace. Bed a bit hard in my view and bedding clean but could be better quality, the room a good size and if you like church bells they go off every hour as the church is right next door lol. Not sure why heating set to go on at 1am. Room was very warn all the time. We did turn radiator off but still very warm. Typical of ifs age creeky floorboard . Ensuite lovely, shower overbath not electric though. Traditional old fashioned toilet, nice to see original style features have been kept. Looks as though recently renovated and has beautiful sash windows. Found the signage not to leave open as pigeons come in amusing Bar well equipt, very busy as pool night, service from young lady very good and friendly. Public area a bit tired looking, toilets clean. Lovely parquet flooring on the ground floor. I asked on arrival if they had decaf tea or coffee in the room but was advised no. Complementary continental breakfast was in your room very basic, couple of porridge pots, and breakfast bars, and 2 little fruit packs 2 bottles of water. No fridge so not cold Good information in the room folder as to places to eat and visit
